Privacy Policy
At EasyInvite we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use, share and protect it, and the choices and rights you have — including if you are a California resident.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in a few ways so we can provide the service. We collect it from two groups of people: hosts (people who create invitations) and guests (people who receive and answer them).
From hosts
- Name, email address and profile picture (from Google, Facebook or Apple sign-in).
- Phone number, if you provide one.
- Event details: title, date, time zone, location, design settings (such as age, theme, music, effects) and optional details such as a gift link or transportation stops.
- Images you upload (for example an invitation photo or flyer).
- Business details (name, logo, website) for business-plan users, and payment-related records such as order status.
- Contact-form messages (name, email, phone, message).
From guests
- Name.
- RSVP status (attending or not).
- Headcount, including number of adults and children.
- Phone number (optional).
- Dietary restrictions and allergies (optional).
- Greeting message (optional).
- Transportation stop selection, if the host offers transport.
Technical information
A session identifier, OAuth tokens (as part of sign-in), basic usage data and error diagnostics needed to run the service. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
Guest information is entered by guests themselves on the invitation page, and is visible to the host of that event. Guests do not need an account.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create, manage and display digital invitations for events.
- Collect and manage guest lists and RSVPs, so hosts know who is coming, how many, and any dietary needs or transport needs.
- Recognize returning guests (see "Phone numbers" below).
- Operate your account and keep sign-in secure.
- Send service emails, such as RSVP update summaries to hosts.
- Provide business-plan features such as branding, vouchers and a management dashboard.
- Respond to support requests.
- Improve the service, prevent abuse and keep the platform secure and running.
3. Security
We use reasonable safeguards — encrypted traffic (HTTPS), secured PostgreSQL storage and secure session management — to protect your personal information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information to:
- Sign-in providers: Google, Facebook and Apple, to verify your identity (subject to their own privacy policies).
- Infrastructure and service providers: Vercel (hosting and image storage via Vercel Blob), our database provider, Resend (email delivery) and Sentry (error monitoring), solely to operate the service.
- Payments: Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy — not EasyInvite — collects and processes your payment details (such as card information, billing address and tax data) under its own terms and privacy policy. EasyInvite does not receive or store your full payment card details.
- The public: Event details that a host chooses to publish on the public invitation link (such as date, location, images and greeting) are visible to anyone who has the link.
- Authorities: When required by law, or to protect rights, safety and security.
5. Phone Numbers
Guest and host phone numbers are optional. We use them only to (a) recognize a returning guest so they do not have to re-enter their details, and (b) enable future guest notifications related to the event they were invited to. We do not use phone numbers for marketing, and we do not sell them.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service to you and your guests, and afterward only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
How to request deletion: email legal@geteasyinvite.com or use our contact page, and tell us the email address on your account (or the event link for guest data). Guests can also ask the event host to remove their RSVP. We will delete the information we hold, subject to legal retention duties and the exceptions described below.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, subject to legal retention duties. To make a request, see section 6 or section 9. Under Israeli privacy law, you also have the right to review and correct information held about you.
Minors: EasyInvite is designed for event planning, including children's birthdays. Information about minors (such as a name and age on an event) is entered by the event organizer — the parent or guardian — and we expect the organizer to have any required parental consent. The service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not create accounts.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. It describes our practices over the past 12 months.
Categories of personal information we collect
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, account and session identifiers.
- Customer records and commercial information: contact-form details and purchase/order records (payment details are handled by Lemon Squeezy).
- Audio, electronic or visual information: images you upload.
- Internet or network activity: basic usage data, error diagnostics.
- Other information you provide: event details, RSVP responses, headcounts, greeting messages, transportation choices.
- Potentially sensitive information: dietary restrictions and allergies that guests choose to provide, which may reveal health-related information. We use this only to let the host plan the event, and not to infer characteristics about you.
Why we collect and use it
To provide the invitation and RSVP service, operate accounts, process purchases, communicate with you, provide support, and maintain security and service quality — as described in section 2. We retain information as described in section 6. We disclose information to the service providers listed in section 4 for these business purposes.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell or share your personal information (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA), including for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of; we also honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by law.
Your California rights
- Know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, the sources, purposes and the categories of recipients.
- Delete: request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out: opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither) and limit use of sensitive personal information (we use it only as described above).
- Non-discrimination: we will not deny you service, charge different prices or provide a different quality of service because you exercised these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Email legal@geteasyinvite.com or use our contact page, stating that you are making a California privacy request and which right you wish to exercise. We will verify your request by matching the details you provide (such as the email address on your account) to information we hold, and may ask for additional details. We aim to respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of their authorization.
